Madam Super Trash (MST) is an autobahn charged rock band, serving up a high-octane mix of infectious melodies and dynamic rhythms, all wrapped in a rebellious edge.
Their sound evolves in response to masterful poetry and lyrics written by lead singer, Tina Barry. MST have been described as “treble heavy, shiny, happy, political post punk, turned indie pop”, earning a reputation for their high-energy performances and genre-blurring sound.
Musicians Jason Oats (lead guitar), Dillon Johnson (drums), Sophie Cleo Head (guitar and vocals) and Stuart Baulk (guitar) have all rotated around the Adelaide and Australian music scene in many indie rock, folk, shoegaze and rock collaborative outfits, while bass player Tim Matthew brings a wealth of experience playing alongside some of Australia's most respected musicians, including the likes of Archie Roach, Tex Perkins, and Kate Ceberano.
In 2024, Madam Super Trash unleashed three standout singles—“OSFN”, “Wreck”, and “Marino Rocks” (all recorded, mixed and mastered by Matt Hills at Hillside Recordings)— showcasing their ability to seamlessly blend introspective lyrics with electrifying instrumentals.
Their infectious tracks have garnered significant attention, securing a spot on Three D Radio's top most 20 played, as well as regular spins on stations up and down the east coast, Europe and the US. MST’s songs are original designs sprung from a need to address the myriad of trash in our objective and subjective worlds.
With their sights set on pushing musical boundaries and creating memorable live experiences, Madam Super Trash is a rising force to be reckoned with in the indie-rock scene.
