The Sundance Kids (SA)
Supported by:
Foreshore (SA)
John Woods (SA)
Kiki (SA)
“The future looks bright for these young local stars.”
–dB Magazine
“With a solid live show and polished new material, The Sundance Kids are ready to throw their hat in the ring.”
– RIP IT UP Magazine
“The Sundance Kids are… one of the premier rock acts in SA.”
–Beat Magazine
Growing up on a farm in rural South Australia carried very few privileges for vocal front-man and guitarist Ash Gale. However, in retrospect, the shortage of traffic, people and big city lights gave him two privileges he wouldn’t trade for the world: time and space. Time to process his extraordinary song writing abilities; and space, to sing as loud – and as passionately – as he possibly could.
After teaming up with the melodic acoustic guitarist/vocalist Jason Shepherd, the boys joined forces with Luke Zecchin, a self-confessed guitar connoisseur. The partnership made between these three friends was natural, but the sound they created musically was nothing like they had experienced before.

Carl Riseley (NSW)
Carl Riseley has always been musical, but rather than with singing, his adventure began as a trumpeter – in The Royal Australian Navy band. It was only a recent switch to singing for the navy rock band that saw him focus on his singing, and then decide to give the Australian Idol auditions a crack.
“I’m a trumpet player, I’ve been doing it since I could walk,” Carl says of making it into the Top 12. “I can’t believe I’m here.” Carl went on to make it right through to the top three in the show, and was a public favourite throughout.
In 2008, Carl is embarking on the next step in his career as a modern day crooner by signing on to legendary manager Ralph Carr (Vanessa Amorosi, Kate Ceberano).

Redhead

John Woods Band |
Redhead (SA)
John Woods Band (SA)
Special guest:
Adam Page (SA)
The fiery Redhead from FRUiT brings her hot new band to the stage to release their debut album. The reinvention of Susie Keynes shows no signs of disappointing.
John Woods Band enjoyed an extraordinary rise through 2007 culminating in a huge gig at BDO 2008… building rotation on Nova and Triple J and it was looking like JWB were about to break through. Heady times for this wildly talented group and with the pressure mounting on the shoulders of the band’s centre-piece and songwriter, John Woods decided to go against all the momentum and hang it up for a while.
This gig is a return to the stage of this awesome roots act. Time to reflect and the band is back, amped and ready to gig with a recording in the wings to follow on from the much listened to ‘Pockets’.

The Angels (SA)
Face To Face Anniversary Tour
THE ANGELS REUNITE
Yes it’s true… Rock fans everywhere rejoice… The Angels Are Back!
It was a decade ago that seminal Australian rock band The Angels decided to call it a day. Their charismatic frontman, Doc Neeson, was involved in a horrific car accident that prevented him from performing for several years but after rehabilitation he went on to form Doc Neeson’s Angels. The rest of the band continued to perform as The Angels Band. In August 2007 tensions boiled over between the two parties and the The Angels court case was splashed across newspapers throughout Australia.
Now, after months of mediation the former band mates have decided to reunite, and to the delight of music lovers everywhere, reform as the original line-up of Doc Neeson (lead vocals), John Brewster (rhythm guitar, b/v), Rick Brewster (lead guitar), Chris Bailey (bass, b/v) and Graham “Buzz” Bidstrup (drums) … The Angels.
