Upbeat Sounds presents The Kittyhawks Adelaide debut show!
The Kittyhawks are the newest hot property in Melbourne's ska scene, featuring several ex-members of beloved early 2000s pirate ska rogues, Sounds Like Chicken, rounded out with some fresh faces. Sounds Like Chicken toured Australia extensively and played over 500 shows, and supported many international touring bands.
Since reforming as The Kittyhawks and playing their debut live show in November 2023, the band has already headlined venues across Melbourne, have supported Dubioza Kolektiv (Bosnia), Belvedere (Canada), Area 7, The Allniters and Loin Groin, and toured nationally from June to September, including the East Coast and WA.
The band has also just been announced as one of the Australian headliners for Ska Nation Festival playing before Hey Smith (Japan) and Voodoo Glow Skulls (USA), and are currently booking a European festival tour in June/July 2025, including the iconic This Is Ska Festival and others.
The Kittyhawks debut single “Danger in the Middle” has received airplay on Triple J and was called the “best Australian ska release in many years” by Ska Nation Radio. Their debut live shows were described as “chaotic energy breathing life back into the ska punk scene”
