Adelaide musician and producer Terry C. Bradford is creating a new “musical community”. Terry, who has produced 54 albums and founded numerous Adelaide bands, will be the new host of the new Open Mic Nights at the Governor Hindmarsh Hotel, to be held every Wednesday from 8pm, starting on the 23rd April, 2008.
“We are creating the atmosphere of a club, where people get to know each other and share their music together,” says Terry. “Every two months we’ll put on a concert in The Gov’s Venue Room and will release compilation albums of the musicians who come and play.”
Terry, who hosted 3D Radio’s open mic show “Hillbilly Hoot” for 10 years, believes that “this club will be a boon for western suburbs musos, poets and performers of all kinds, whether they’re amateur or professional, to try out new material in front of an audience.”
With thirty years of experience in the music industry, Terry (noted for his work with bands such as The Borderers, Those Kodiaks, The Bedridden, The Texettes) has the ability to nurture and encourage young artists. “Some of the world’s best known musical acts have come about because of the combination of people who happened to be in one room at the same time. Let’s see what happens at The Gov on Wednesdays!”
