Dino Jag

with special guest Throwing Flowers

International award-winning singer songwriter Dino Jag delivers his final Adelaide show for 2017 on the back of his critically acclaimed “Breakthrough” EP with an exclusive “Stripped Back” show that will showcase his latest songs, along with some classic covers, with captivating soulful arrangements that also feature Virgil Reality on trumpet and Nick Romano on drums along with some very special guests including retro indie/pop band “Throwing Flowers” who have just released their debut EP “Should’ve Known Better”.
A South Australian treasure with an unmistakable voice and performance energy, Dino Jag is quickly becoming a recognised name internationally. He unleashed his ‘Breakthrough’ EP to critical acclaim in November 2016. Recorded at the legendary Sunset Sound Studios in Hollywood with Grammy Award Winning Producer Jeff Bova at the helm it featured some of the best in business, Aaron Sterling (Drums - John Mayer), Corey Britz (Bass - Bush), Tim Pierce (Guitar - Bruce Springsteen), Jeff Bova (Keyboards - Michael Jackson), Carroll Hatchet (Backing Vocals - Bette Midler) & Bernard Fowler (Backing Vocals - The Rolling Stones), all involved in the recording of this Pop Rock sensation which has become a major milestone in Dino’s career.
“The award-winning vocalist truly taps into his pure nature with “Breakthrough” and you see his musical vision flow to life.” Sydney Paschall – Compose Yourself Magazine
The hype, up to and around the release of Breakthrough, was simply titanic. Impose Magazine wrote that Dino Jag, “possesses an appeal that is far-reaching and rather impressive.” The Big Takeovers’ review said “Dino Jag has clearly cracked the code for pop songwriting, and he winningly replicates this formula six times over the course of the simply enjoyable ‘Breakthrough’ EP.” Meanwhile, Obscure Sound praised his “Wide vocal range.” Celebmix was especially pleased with his work, going so far as to say “He embraces music to his very core and continues to shape his career while exploring new sounds in his own electrifying way. To become a true success, music has to be a passion not a chore.” Music Networks’ review of the single ‘You Make Me Feel So Good’ wrote, “Dino Jag truly feels like 2016’s equivalent of Steve Earl’s Copperhead Road, equalling passion with raucous guitar interplay”. Paste Magazine wrote “Breaking new grounds”. So in our eyes, Dino Jag is on a smashingly good path.
After the highly successful single releases of ‘Two Young Hearts’ and ‘You Make Me feel So Good’ and the follow up “Breakthrough” EP, Dino Jag is now set to deliver the music live with a series of dynamic ‘Stripped Back’ performances that will place a different spotlight on the songs and the live music experience.
“The “Stripped Back” shows are highly charged with generous servings of soulful funk/rock” says Dino Jag. “I’ll be wielding an acoustic guitar and joining me on stage will be the highly engaging Virgil Reality on trumpet and Nick Romano on drums. It’s a very cool sound that exposes the heart and soul of the music in a way that’s intensely intimate, yet very dynamic and upbeat. It’s a great vibe. Plus, we’ll have some super cool special guests joining us on the day including “Throwing Flowers”, a retro indie/pop band heavily influenced by The Beatles with awesome harmonies, everyone’s in for a treat. It’s also cool to be doing this show on a Sunday afternoon which makes it accessible to more people. It’s gonna be a real blast.”
